About

Big Malk is a producer and emcee from Albany, NY. He embarked on the music industry in 2008 as an emcee with the collaborative album, Local To Global, with Jack of All Trades.

During the process of creating Local To Global, Malk instantly became interested in the production aspect of hip-hop. After honing his craft for a few years, he landed his first beat placement with Freddie Foxxx aka Bumpy Knuckles in 2011. Malk as gone on to produce for Neek The Exotic, J-Love, and Dark Lo to name a few.

Malk has released several projects as an artist in his own right, whether behind the boards or behind the mic. In April 2010, he released his first solo project, Got Malk? The Pre EP, showcasing some of his newly crafted production. In December 2010, Malk began a series of instrumental EPs that sampled soulful Christmas music starting with Christmas In Windsor, which he released on Christmas day as a free download for his fans. A second part in this series was released in December 2011, and the third part in December 2013. In December 2010, Malk also released the first Digital 12" in an ongoing series titled, It's Time, which included the first two singles off the Continue To Rise EP, with Jack of All Trades, as well as bonus beats from each artist. The Continue To Rise EP, with Jack of All Trades, was released in May 2011. The second Digital 12" off the project, Mighty Ones, was released in July 2011 and followed the same format as the It's Time release. The instrumentals from the Continue To Rise EP project soon followed, and were released in December 2011. In May 2012, Malk released the first project in his Live From Malkatraz series featuring his production work, unreleased instrumentals, and never before heard remixes.

Malk has also produced a few of "one emcee, one producer" EPs. The first was The Brothers Grim EP, with Young Malk (Malk's little brother), in March 2011, and the second was the Apex Predator EP, with Juice Mega, in September 2012. The third EP in this same fashion, Pu 94 EP with Sime Gezus, was released in October 2013.

Malk released a collaborative album, Plutonium, with Sime Gezus, in July 2013 as well as the Broken City EP, with SMGs (Juice Mega & Darkstar) on Halloween 2013.

In May 2014, Malk, Sime Gezus, and elsphinx released a self titled EP as the group Actuator.
